Hensley Upholstery
Hensley Upholstery furniture is a small modest manufacturer based in the beautiful coastal town of Plettenberg Bay along the Garden Route. We pride ourselves in being a local South African manufacturer creating employment for skilled artisans, allowing us to be dedicated to the quality, comfort and craftsmanship of each piece we make. We make your individual vision come to life with regards to sizes, fabric selection and finishes.
We manufacture a range of home furnishings:
Manufacturing of sofas, headboards, ottomans, chairs, slipcovers, etc. Revamping, reconditioning and recovery of your preloved pieces.
Window treatments
Curtains, blinds, roller blinds, Venetian, blinds and shutters.
Shutters, collection and delivery of furniture, picture hanging and curtain hardware.
Heather Hensley Interior Design and Consulting

This division focuses on interior design and concepts, creating unique interiors for residential, commercial and hospitality projects. It's a journey of discovery with the client to make their vision a reality. We apply our experience and expertise for a holistic solution with careful consideration of colour, texture, proportion and functionality as well as  coming up with novel ideas and solutions, within the budget and timeframe.

Having several years of experience in the design world along with an in-house manufacturing division, we can revamp tired existing spaces or create new construction interiors very effectively. We are able to design and manufacture or source tailor-made furniture pieces and décor items if needed. We select each project carefully, and approach each one with a fresh mind and lots of enthusiasm. At the forefront of our approach is the knowledge that we are fulfilling a client's dream.

A fee structure is designed according to your budget and specific needs. There are three different tiers - based on the scope of your project.
A. Turnkey Interior Design
a percentage of the total project value is charged
Full turnkey interior design service which includes concept development, design of joinery, space planning, procurement, sourcing, installation and project management. A percentage of the final total project value is charged. A package that suits commercial projects, clients that reside out of town or clients that don’t have time to project manage.
B. Full design solution
charged per room based on the square meterage
This full room design includes conceptualisation, design using scale drawings and sourcing of fixtures. A package ideal for you if your space requires new finishes, floors, lighting and custom joinery in addition to furniture and décor for the complete design. The execution of certain fixed finishes, construction and installation are not included and are the client’s responsibility. Ideal package for when a project manager is on site has been hired by the client or builder.
C. Quick Design Solution
charged by the hour
This option includes a concept solution, advice and guidance on colour, texture and optimal layout. A package that concentrates on soft furnishings. Obtained by using Mood boards and verbal consultations for the client. It can be taken a step further whereby sourcing of product can be requested. Fixed finishes, construction and installation are not included in this fee and are the client’s responsibility. A package great for a single or couple of rooms and when project management is taken care of by the client .
